This year think green. The 2016 Annual report is now available for download from our website. Think Green

Click here to download the report now.

The financial section of the report can be downloaded by clicking here. You will, however, require an account on this website.

It's very easy to create an account on this website, and this is an excellent reason to do so.

Just click on Create an Account right here right here or on the bottom far left of the screen, and then follow the directions. This process requires you respond to an Email sent to the address you provide. In this way, we have a valid Email address for each account, and we can at the very least determine the Email address of everyone that accesses the Member content.

The whole process only takes a minute or two. You can help save some trees, and reduce the cost of printing these reports.

If you have already had an account but have forgotten your password click on the Forgot your password? link. If the process of creating an account is not clear, or you run into problems, please contact me Paul Verboom, and I would be happy to help you out.

Goodbye to Rev. David PDF Print E-mail

After 11 years of service Rev. David Hann has left Hope United Church (a union of Edgewood, Oxford Street, and United Memorial United Churches) to answer a Call to another church.

This change is effective January 1st, 2017.

We at Hope United Church thank Rev. David for his years of service and wish God's blessings on him and his new pastoral charge.

As Rev. David had stated at his last service; "Without goodbyes, there could not be hellos." While we are saddened to say goodbye to Rev. David, we  welcome Rev. Robert Chapman.

Rev. Robert Chapman has been appointed as a supply minister for Hope United for the period of January 2nd to June 30th, 2017. During this time the Joint Needs Assessment Committee and the Search Committee will continue the process to find a permanent replacement for Rev. David.

Any concerns can be directed to the Church Office via email or phone;

Goodbye from Rev. David PDF Print E-mail

Dear friends of Hope United Church,

For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven. (Ecclesiastes 3: 1)

Eleven years ago, the Hann family began to live in to a new season of life and ministry. It was with a sense of adventure and a small dose of trepidation that I accepted a Call to Edgewood-Oxford United Church. This small town, rural boy was not sure how he was going to fit in to the “big” city, Halifax. However, the large gift baskets that greeted us on our first Sunday were the first of many gestures of love and kindness that would remind me of just how fortunate I was to have said Yes to this community of faith.

I believe our life together has been rich and rewarding. Our challenges have been met with patience and integrity and our accomplishments with humble gratitude to the One who journeys with us.

Thank you for the wonderful send off and the gift of money. Your generosity continues to inspire me. While we will miss each and every one of you, we feel blessed to have been a part of your lives.

On January 1st, we will live into a new season of life and ministry. I thank God for this season of life and ministry that we have shared and pray that the memories we have made will be celebrated and never forgotten.

In peace,

Rev David
